Business Impact: In the past few years ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting, management, and compliance has become a significant focus area for oil and gas companies. The rapid evolution of the Energy Transition has been so fast over the past year, that many oil and gas companies are struggling to develop the skill sets to ensure that ESG programmes are a central priority across their business. This course will provide an awareness of ESG issues that will help your organisation to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving market.
The course will highlight the primary ESG risks to oil and gas business and help you to monitor, report and mitigate these risks. As well as highlighting the risks, the course will provide foresight to where ESG value can be created. With access to finance now very much dependent on increasingly stringent ESG criteria, understanding the perspectives and reporting requirements for both lenders and borrowers, is essential. This interactive course brings to life the vantage points of multiple ESG stakeholders.

Gary Cranmer
Background
Dr Cranmer has over 35 years’ involvement with Heath, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management, covering all aspects of HSE management and management consultancy, in both the off shore and onshore energy industry. He’s gained a wide range of experience across a number of disciplines and obtained a detailed working knowledge of the international upstream oil & gas and offshore renewable energy industries. He specialises in HSE management systems, the environmental assessment process, and in the monitoring, audit and review of operations, working world-wide with many operating companies, both multinationals and independents, in a wide range of regulatory environments, throughout the operational lifecycle. He has also been involved in HSE and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) management programmes at both a corporate and operational level and has liaised with regulators and finance institutions, and managed consultants and contractors in many countries.
Dr Cranmer also advises an international development bank and assess corporate applicants against stringent ESG criteria.

William Emtage
Background
Will has 10 years experience in sustainable investment; advising public and private sector firms as they seek to navigate ESG, Net Zero and TCFD, EU Taxonomy and Article 9 challenges. His focus is on helping clients re-position sustainability from a reactive/defensive, compliance driven exercise into a proactive, scalable, return- generating strategy-monetising adaptation through improved resource-efficiency, the identification of transaction opportunities and use of convergent ESG drivers to ease coordination failure.
By mapping where and how ESG factors drive enterprise value, Will helps clients embed revenue- generation within sustainability programmes by transforming cost-sinks into sources of value-creation and competitve advantage. Focal points include ESG due diligence on private equity transactions, renewable energy, real estate and social impact advisory.
He is a respected ESG contributor in public fora, cited variously in the Wall Street Journal, Real Deals magazine, ESG Oracle and others. He presents frequently to executive committees, law firms and investor conferences; addressing salient challenges in corporate sustainability.

Liane Meade
Background
Liane is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Consultant and works with RPS’ global Technical, Training & Advisory Team. She has recent experience managing a small, local charity in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, working with displaced and refugee communities providing humanitarian support. She worked as CSR Manager for a security company in-country. Since 2010, she has also served as a Trustee for the Friends of the Basrah Museum. The museum has opened during this period, both helping to preserve cultural heritage and serving the local community and wider region.
All of this experience in the field, combined with over 15 years supporting the Oil & Gas industry has led Liane to advise on the creation of long-term, sustainable social value.
Liane achieved a Post-Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the early stages of her career and has used these marketing skills to develop open, meaningful communications with key stakeholders across her roles.
